5 Year Old Potty Mouth

Do you remember when you said your first cuss word? I remember mine. I was in first grade I think and I had heard some boys a school say the "d" word and thought it sounded cool. So when my mom came to pick me up from school, I got in the truck and tried to pull the door shut. I couldn't get it on the first try so I realized the perfect opportunity to use the new word I learned.
Me: "I can't shut the "d" door!
Mom: What did you say?
Me: (not realizing it was bad) " I said, I can't shut the "d" door!
I don't know if my mom laughed on the inside, but I do remember that she made it very clear that we did not say that word....ever!

Yesterday Camryn learned a new word.
Dan and I were both in the bathroom in our room getting ready to go out on a date. Our babysitter was in the living room and the kids were just running around chasing each other and playing some crazy game.
All the sudden they barge into our room and Jordan runs into the bathroom with Camryn close behind. He runs into the back part of the bathroom and slams the door laughing.
Camryn comes in and bangs on the door yelling (and I quote)
"Jordan, come out right now or I'm gonna kick your 'a'!"
Dan and I both looked at each other and then at Camryn who at that time did not realize that anything was wrong and the two of us started cracking up laughing.
It probably took a good 5 seconds before we could compose ourselves in order to confront her with a new "learning experience"
It is so hard to correct them when you can't keep a straight face.
Anyway, this unfortunately is not her first bad word, it is the second. We have already had the discussion about the "d" word with her!
What a potty mouth!

Almost Over and About to Start Again

I can't believe summer is almost over. This comes with good news and bad news. (Good News) I made it through the summer and passed all my classes at TCC (16 hours) with A's and B's so far. (Bad News) There has been no free time and I can't believe school is about to start. This is my last week of summer! Teachers report back August 4th-way too soon if you ask me.
My kids are real excited about school starting, they miss their friends. I think they are starting to get a little bored of summer.
Payton will be in K3 again this year. Same teacher as last year and she is very excited right now because we told her that she would be the teacher's helper this year. We didn't want to move her up this year becuase she will not actually turn four until Dec 31.
Camryn will be in K5 this year and she thinks she is all grown up. Unfortunately the teacher we thought she was going to have moved up to third grade so we are not sure about her teacher right now.
Jordan will be in 2nd grade. He is growing up so fast. His teacher is really strict. He is a little nervous about it, but he will do fine.
His football is going great. He is on the Mighty Mites "Jaguars (Black)" team. There are two Jags teams Black and Teal. I can't wait to see him all dressed out in his uniform! Dan is going to try to take him to a Jacksonville Jags game this year which will be pretty cool for them.
Well I better get these kids some breakfast before they tear up my house--again!

Georgia Tech Volleyball Camp

We just got back from an exciting camp at GA Tech! Our girls did awesome! We were put in the division with the big schools since we had such a great record last year, and believe it or not we hung with them really well! We got started on Monday afternoon and the girls were so pumped! They were cheering and yelling and working really hard. The coaches at GA Tech immediately started to notice their contagious spirit! We ate in their athletic dining hall for all of our meals. The food was great, unlimited and mostly carbs. Not so good for those of us who are not athletes anymore! Here is a picture of little Savanna. Nobody could believe that she ate so much but every meal she filled her tray and ate all of it!

Tuesday morning we started out a little rough, but the afternoon scrimmages were amazing. We played this game called WIN and that is exactly what we did-beating the best, and most athletic team there!

Tuesday night there was a coaches meeting with all of the coaches from the entire camp and all of the Ga Tech coaching staff! We played games on the pool table (which I won by the way) and then had a question and answer time. Here is how the meeting started.

Coach: Where is "Maranatha" ?

Me: Right Here.

Coach: How many kids are in your school?

Me: About 60 kids 7th-12th grade.

Coach: 60 girls?

Me: no, 60 total.

-(here insert a gasp from the other coaches in the room)

Coach: Everyone in here needs to give props to Maranatha. They are not the most athletic team here, but if you have seen them play you know what I am referring to. They have beat some of the best teams here because of their crazy energy on the court. They celebrate like no team I have ever seen before. When they score a point they don't have a one word cheer and high five, they have a party. They scream and yell and hug and jump up and down. Iwas trying to run a 6vs6 drill and it was Maranatha on one side and another team on the other side. I am used to just throwing in one ball after another, but when they were in the drill I had to constantly keep breaking up there celebration to continue with the drill. I love that! Everyone of you in here can learn from them.

He went on to praise our team for a few more minutes and praise some of our players individually as well.

It was amazing! I was floating on cloud 9 on the way back to tell the girls what had happened! And of course when I told them it was party time again in the dorms.

Wednesday was the camp tournament. We did not win, but we did beat the team that won the tournament during pool play!

When they handed out the awards for the tournament-they gave away the 1st place t-shirts to the winner of the gold bracket, the winner of the silver bracket received candy and then they said that they had to give away another award this year because they had one team that really showed how exciting volleyball should be. They called out our names and gave us each little GA Tech Volleyballs! It was really cool!

The next day in the coaches clinic the head coach went on to praise our team again to all the coaches in the meeting-it was so exciting!

Here are some pictures, I did not get any of them playing but here are some group pictures.

Some new pics of the kids

Some of these are from Disney and some are from Camryn and her daddy's date for her 5th birthday.

A July 4th to Remember

We were really looking forward to a relaxing 4th of July. Nothing to do, just relax, grill out some ribs, go see the fireworks show, and watch a movie before bed. Sounds like a great day right? Well, it should have been.
It started out great-we slept in, did a little shopping, started cooking out about 5. Rachel came over and we had a good dinner and then we started to head down to the fireworks show. I don't always lock the doors when we leave, especially if we are just going down to the park or something, but last night I grabbed the keys, locked the doors and we headed down to the park for the show. It was great and it lasted all of about 30 minutes. We picked up our stuff and were about to leave when I realized that my keys were missing. We started looking around for them and could not find them anywhere. Several of the neighbors brought out thier flashlights and started to help us look. We traced our way back to the house and still nothing. We couldn't get a locksmith to call us back. Finally after looking around for about two hours we were able to contact someone who had an extra key to our house and they came over and let us in. This still did not solve the problem of the missing keys though, especially since my one and only van key was on that key ring.
Camryn and I got up early this morning to go out and search again for the keys. still nothing. All I can think is that someone sitting near us accidentally grabbed my keys and left with them. I started calling locksmiths and the Ford Dealership etc. this morning to find out what to do to get a new key for my van. It turns out that my key contains a computerized chip that has to be programmed in order for it to start my van. I can't just get a regular key made. This means that instead of spending 25-35 dollars to get a new key I am going to spend about 175 dollars. Then to top it off the Ford company needs the van towed there and nobody wants to tow my vehicle on a Saturday morning. I could not find a towing company to tow the van until Monday morning. So now I have no vehicle for the next few days and i am going to spend a fortune to replace those keys.
So.....Frustrating!!!!

Camryn is 5!

Camryn turned 5 on June 24th. I cannot believe it. She is starting to grow up so fast!

She wanted a princess cake and the one toy that she has been asking for over the last 6 months is a toy pooodle (stuffed animal) in a purse that she can carry around! You know like all the movie stars have right now! Well those of you who know me well know that this is the kind of priss that drives me insane.

She got the poodle and purse and she takes it everywhere, it is actually kind of cute!

She is going to have a pool party in a few weeks, mommy has to get through this term of school first and then we will have a party. She is adamant that there will be no boys! (at least we haven't gotten to that stage yet!) The girls all have to wear their princess dress up clothes and we are going to go to the dollar jewelry store and then go to the pool! Doesn't that sound like fun!:)

She is going to be in Kindergarten this year and she cannot wait. She is definitely a little social butterfly and can't stand being away from all her little friends this summer!

She is turning into quite the sneaky one! The other day Payton got in trouble for mooning (yes I mean mooning) some of our neighbors! Come to find out that Payton was just doing what Camryn told her to do!

Camryn is such a beautiful little girl, she always has been. Even as a newborn she was really pretty! Rachel took them to the park last week and took some pictures of the girls so when I get them I will post some. For now here are some old pictures of Camryn.
