Payton
A few weeks ago we had a speaker come to the church who had cerebral palsey. It was on a Monday night so we had to stay at the school all and then for church. My kids were exhausted and they did not offer nursery that night for kids 3 and over. This meant that my kids had to stay in church with me. Usually that is not so bad. Jordan and Camryn are old enough that they can handle being in church as long as they have something to draw, color, or read. Payton on the other hand has an attention span of about 5 minutes tops and that is only if you are very interesting! Needless to say this was a disaster waiting to happen.
The preacher spoke for two hours and my kids were great but during the invitation Payton got restless and started to be silly. All the sudden something struck her funny and she started laughing uncontrollably. I knew she wouldn't be able to stop so I grabbed my stuff and quickly ran out the back door with her. On my way out I hear the preacher start talking about how the devil uses young children to distract people and according to my brother he went on for a while about it. I was pretty aggravated to say the least!
I mean seriously I can say my child acts like the devil, but someone who doesn't know her better not start!
Well, I had to think twice about getting so angry last night.
Payton had wet her pants at after school care, and we did not have any extra clothes. My mom had brought dinner to the church since it was Wednesday night and we usually just stay for church, so we decided to go ahead and eat and then I would take her home.
After we ate the choir director asked me if I would stay and play the piano before we left so I agreed.
I grabbed Payton and took her into the auditorium with me and noticed that she had found a black marker and drawn smiley faces all over her legs.
She looked ridiculous.
I just laughed and set her down in the pew where my parents always sit and told her to be still until they got there.
Unfortunately they did not ever come in.
I started playing the piano and the next thing I knew she was up on the platform with me banging on the piano while the congregation was singing.
I tried to get her to stop and go sit back down but she is very strong willed and just kept on.
Then she disappeared, I hoped it was because she had gone to sit with someone, but soon found out otherwise.
The school secretary had given her a stuffed animal duck that quacked "AFLAC" when you squeeze it. Apparantly she had gone down and gotten it and then come back up to the platform squeezing it and showing it to everyone in the audience. She then got tired of that and gave it to the song director who could barely keep the song going.
She returned to play the piano a little more and then went up into the choir loft for the rest of the song service.
As soon as it was over I grabbed her and left not totally realizing how much she had done. We walked outside and the music director and a couple of other people were out there laughing and talking about everything she had done.
I was apologizing over and over again and they were really nice and said, it's not big deal she was really funny!
What am I going to do with her?

Jordan's game
Last night Jordan had his third little league game. He played awesome. He made his daddy and I so proud. He went 4-4 on his hitting. He singled every time, but if you ask him he will tell you that he hit 4 home runs. (He thinks that if he scores during an inning it is a home run). Again he is the only kid out there that does not strike out!
Our coach wasn't there last night so one of the dad's did the lineup. Of course it was a dad who had no clue what was going on! He put Jordan in the outfield for the first two innings and the other team was leading us 4-2. In the last two innings he made a few good adjustments and we ended up winning 12-5. One of those adjustments was to bring Jordan into the infield. He played second base and was responsible for several outs including throwing a player out at home!
He is so incredibly cute too! He is starting to get a little bit competitive. Dan asked him after the game if he saw Major Posey who is the son of the baseball coach/athletic director at NFC he is in second grade and he played for the opposing team. His dad and Dan are good friends. Dan pointed him out and Jordan says, "Yeah, I got him out at second base!"
I think we convinced Camryn to play softball. She saw the 10-11 yr old girls out there playing and she commented on how cute their uniforms were! That's all it takes for her cute outfits and she is in!
Payton is off in another world. She spent the afternoon talking to strangers at the baseball park and yelling at kids in the dugout on the other team.
Her new little song is from Alvin and the Chipmunks and it is a little embarrassing when she goes around singing, "Dirty underwear, Dirty underwear ______________likes to wear dirty underwear." and she plugs in the name of whoever she is making fun of at the time. Unfortunately sometimes it is me and I have to try explain to her that it is not funny. But as you can imagine that only provokes her!
That's it for now, I'll put of some pics later!

Notes on the tournament
I will have more pics to come later of the tournament. We had a great time. We stayed at the Laguna Beach Resort in Panama City. It was amazing. We had room for 22 people, so there was lots of space. It was located right on the beach and we had a living room, dining room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We got there and immediately went out to the beach while Mrs. Mary a.k.a. team mommy went shopping for us and made dinner. We relaxed, played some beach volleyball, took pictures and just enjoyed the beautiful sunset! Then we went in and had a wonderful dinner and Rachel and I went to the store to get some things for our team "game". When we got back it was getting dark and so Rachel took the girls into one of the rooms and divided them up into teams and explained the game, while I briefed Mrs. Mary of her part in our little prank. The girls each received a bucket and a flashlight and were instructed to go a certain direction on the beach and collect as many little crabs as they could. We had them bring them to the center of the beach area and put them in the big hole you see Becky in on the previous post. The team that collected the most crabs won part A of the game. One team ended up with 21 and the other team only had 3. Then the girls had to stand around the outside of the hole while the crabs started crawling out. If they moved they were out. I am not sure which team won this part of the game because it was mass chaos when the crabs started crawling out of the hole! While we were playing our game, Mrs. Mary was up in the house collecting one item from each girls uniform and hiding it. After the crab game we played some more beach volleyball and then jumped in the heated pool! We went back up to the house at about 11pm and had a wonderful team devotion and time of prayer! Then it was off to bed! The next morning Rachel and I were quiet and trying hard to keep a straight face as the girls came in one by one deeply apologetic for the missing items. I think Kelsey was first. She came in and said " I am so..... sorry coach but I think I forgot my spandex. I remember packing them, but they must have fallen out of my bag or something because I have looked everywhere for them!" I resisted the urge to burst out laughing and gave her a stern look and said, "Okay, then lets see what we can do." We found her a pair of regular black shorts and said , "well this will just have to do. " Then Kathy came in and couldn't find her spandex either. She said, "I know I had them." She was really upset. The best Was when Radiance came in and couldn't find her jersey. She didn't even want to tell me. She just gave me this really sad look and I said, "what!" She said, " I don't want to tell you. " Finally I got it out of her. I yelled for the girls to come to the living room and said, "This is ridiculous!, who else is missing part of their uniform." The girls looked terrified as a few of them spoke up that they were missing kneepads, shoes, jerseys, spandex, etc...! I said, "that is it we are just going home, there is no point playing if we can't even remember to bring our uniforms. " Then I turned to Mrs. Mary and said what do you think we should do? She said, "well being the team mom I usually try to prepare for these types of things and I just happen to have some things that might help." She pulled out a bag with all of the girls uniforms in it and passed them out. The girls looked confused and shocked! It took them a few minutes to realize that we had pranked them. When they finally realized what had happened everyone started laughing and joking. We left for the tournament and were ready to play and have a great time.
The tournament was a 16/17 tournament and there we were matched up against a really good seventeen team right off the bat. We played really well. We lost the first game 25-21 and then we gave them a run for their money in the second game and the final score was 30-28. Our second game was against another 17 team and we had it won. We lost the first game 25-23, we won the second game 25-17, and lost the third game 15-13. It was so draining. Then we played our final match against a really good 16 team. They beat us 25-19 and 25-15. We didn't play too well in this match and it was really disappointing to end on that note. But other than that we had a great tournament!
